The History of Greenleas Primary School

Greenleas Primary School first opened in 1971 to cater for the expansion in housing and population in Wallasey Village. The first group of girls and boys transferred to the new school from St. George's Primary in November of that year.

Our building is made up of four departments with shared practical areas, a school hall equipped for P.E., a computer suite, a library, a kitchen, toilets and an administration area. The school hall is also used for acts of worship/assemblies and as the dining room for mid-day meals.
In the year 2000 we were proud to be selected as one of the schools designated to take pupils with physical and medical impairments.

We do have some land surrounding the school and although it is not extensive we make use of different areas for a variety of activities.

We have computers in the suite and the library as well as in classrooms. Almost all classes now have interactive whiteboards.

Our library is well resources and has an effective lending programme.

The school hours are 9.00am - 3.15pm.

Lunchtime is from 12.15pm to 1.15pm
